~ Hello, and happy Monday! ~
I have been taking a little break from the blog for the last few days while my parents are in town visiting.
I have not done any new projects in at least a week, and I plan to get back into my groove this week.
We have had a great time together, and it was so nice having my parents here for my birthday, which was Saturday.
We decided to take a little trip to historic Orange, CA. I believe that it's a little over 60 miles, but we ran into some traffic on the way there, so it took over 2 hours to get there. Good times. I love L.A. traffic! And on a Saturday, at that! Hmph!
Once we finally got there, we were charmed by the center of the historic area of town. There are lots of antique shops, and boutiques, and adorable restaurants! It is not often that you can find an "old" building in southern California, let alone lots of them in one place! I have found myself really missing that since moving here from the midwest.
We had a quick lunch, and then set off exploring. I found a really fabulous antique store, that I could have spent a TON more time in if I were alone, but my family was pretty patient, so I didn't want to push it. :-)
I loved this cool sign!
Old game boards, and a fun old ice cream sign.
I am such a sucker for a plaid blanket!
Look at that fab old boat!
My dad and the little guy found the vintage book section.
Love this jar of wooden eggs.
Really great patina and shape on this old pudding mold.
Ironstone, of course!
I always love the vintage graphics on these kinds of tins.
And more wonderful plaid! I want some of these old plaid picnic tins.
Cute vintage globes.
Awesome cubbies. WANT!
Lots of the buildings had ghost signs on the sides. That is something that we just don't see here in Cali.
Cute spring window display.
This was an adorable little boutique with some unique items.
GREAT sign!
Nest with metal egg.
Cute shell signs.
REALLY cool old cigar molds.
Fun architectural salvage.
Cute little ceramic boxes with initials.
Metal letters.
Easter vignette.
Love this olive bucket. I have seen these in Ballard Design catalog.
Galvanized wall clock. I loved this.
I ALMOST bought one of these old windows...but I talked myself out of it. Why do I do that?
There was a store that had these vintage stoves in the window. So cute.
The hubs and the little guy.
It was kind of a gloomy day, but it was a great place! I really want to go back!
I promise to get back to my projects and start posting them this week!
Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!
See you tomorrow...
