~ Hello Friends! ~
This has been project week around here, and I always love the feeling of getting these little things done. You know, the little projects that have been on what I refer to as the "rolling list"?. That simply means they are the projects that are not my top priority, or ones that I have just decided to blow off! ;-) Am I the only one with a rolling list?
So, on said list was a little side table that I picked up years ago at a garage sale for $5. I loved the lines, and though it had a painted pedestal that was a little too yellowish for my decor, it has remained that way since it was dropped in my living room the day I brought it home.
Here's how she's looked for the past ....few years.
See how yellow the base was next to my Swiss Coffee white banister? *Please ignore table vignette. I just plunked a few found items on top, and have not done my Spring vignette as of yet.
Closer look.
I broke out the Swiss Coffee white...

This is the color on most of the trim, doors and staircase in our house, but I felt it just was way too white looking for the table base!
To me it was just screaming for some aging. So I mixed two stains together from my supplies. I think it was Minwax Mahogany and Ebony. Probably 3/4 Mahogany to 1/4 Ebony, though it may have been closer to half and half. The ebony sort of takes the red out, and knocks it down to just a dark espresso, I guess. Anyhow, I just wiped it on with a rag, and then wiped it off with another dry rag.
Here is the result...
*Again with the random branch. Pretend it's not there, ok?*
I also rubbed a fresh coat of stain on the top, and now she really shines!
It is a very subtle difference, but enough to emphasize the detail, and to give it a little depth.
Well, that's it for today! Back to my "rolling list"! Tell me you have one too!?
Have a great day, everybody! :-)

Thanks! I am having trouble with my camera, so I am not happy with the photo quality. :-( I am happy with the table, though!
