Autumn Banner How To...

Hi!
Thanks for stopping by!

Today I want to show you a little project that took 4 things to make,
and literally just 6 minutes from start to finish!

I was at Michael's Crafts earlier this week, and they had these muslin covered cardboard pieces on sale for a dollar!

Well, I knew I wanted to make some type of fall banner like the ones I've seen in the Pottery Barn catalog, so using that as my inspiration, I made my own version.

All I used were the fabric covered banner "boards", a sharpie, some letter stencils, and a spool of black ribbon.

Ok, I'll show you how...

I used some Martha Stewart stencils that I had in my craft supplies...

Mine came two letters per card, so I cut them in half because they are much easier to work
with that way.

As usual, I just eyeballed it.

Seriously, I never. measure. anything.

Traced the outline with a Sharpie, and filled them in.

Easy peasy, lemon squeezie!

Then I laid them all out and used a spool of back ribbon to string them all together.

I didn't have a pumpkin stencil, so I just free-handed the pumpkins with vines and leaves.

They turned out better than I expected.

The ribbon I used had a tiny wire in it, so I curled it around my Sharpie at the ends.

I will give you one blurry shot of it hanging on the mantel, but I am still in the process of changing that out for fall, so I will so a mantel post with close ups when it's finished!

Have a great day!!

My Cute New Ugg Tennis Shoes...And the End of Summer Happenings.

Hi friends!

Happy Monday!!

This is the last week of summer, and the little guy heads back to school next Tuesday.

We have another week of swim lessons, and a few more fun things to do before then.

We had a really nice 2 days at Disneyland.

We like to splurge and stay at the Grand Californian.

...Even though we live close enough to drive...technically.

It just makes it so much more enjoyable!

It is Craftsman Style in Architecture.
There is a massive stone fireplace in the lobby, with comfy rocking chairs around it.
I know, because I sunk into one after dinner. Ahhhh.

The next morning we were up and running!

It is the happiest place on earth for sure!

The little guy's top 3 are...

The Buzz Lightyear Ride.

The Lego store at Downtown Disney.

and

The Radiator Springs Ride in Cars Land.
(Seriously, so awesome!!!)

Now, back to those shoes...

I saw these at Nordstrom months ago, and I keep thinking about them...

I am not really a tennis shoe girl.

I mean, I have great workout Nike shoes,
but I don't really wear tennis shoes on a regular basis.

Maybe because I like to look a little more...
I don't know.

I guess I like cute sandals or boots or wedges, something a little more fun!

Tennis shoes are just not normally my thing.

But THESE, I can do!!

Come to mama!

I broke down and ordered them today.

And, thanks to Amazon Prime, I will be sporting them very soon!

Hope you have a fantastic week!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Monogram Wall in My Office.

It's been a bit hectic around here this week.

Summer is winding down for us.

My son starts school after the holiday, next Tuesday. I really like that he starts later.
We have swim lessons for him, this week and next.

We still have some fun things to pack into the last remaining days of summer.
I'm trying to pull a Disneyland trip together...

among other things. :-)

Needless to say, my mornings have been a little full, trying to post, fix breakfast, clean up,
get him ready, and out the door.

I thought I would share my little find this week for my monogram wall in my office.

It's hard to tell, since the light almosts BLASTS in my Master Bed and Bath in the morning,
but it's sort of a pewter finish metal 'L'.

I had spotted it weeks ago at TJ Maxx,
It was around $7.50, I think.

Well, I was in there the other day and it was the only letter like it on the Clearance shelves, and it was marked down to $1.50.

You KNOW how I love a deal!

So, it came home with me.

I have to apologize for the lazy girl iPhone photos in the crazy light, but here it is on the wall...

Again, I am so sorry for the bad photos!

The dog has to follow me around while I take pictures.

Notice the shoes on the ladder, and evening bags on the walls?

It was a whim, and I kind of like it...

I think.

This corner is not visible upon entering the Master Bedroom, so I don't feel bad for making this
corner of my office a little girly.

I recently painted the armoire in the opposite corner.

I mixed black, and brown grey that I used on the kitchen island.

It looks much better!

Just a fun little find I wanted to share.

Off to swimming lessons with the boy!

Have a great day!

Thanks so much for the visit!

Make a Monogrammed Makeup Bag For One Dollar!

Hi friends!

I thought I would show you my 2 minute project that only cost me $1.

ONE DOLLAR!!

I love that!

Ok, so I hit the Target dollar bins this week, and found these really cute makeup bags.

I thought it would be fun to personalize it, so I grabbed a black sharpie.

That's all you will need to make your own monogrammed makeup bag!

I just free-handed a letter 'L'.

 Such cute lining inside, right?!

So that's how it's done...super easy!!

I love to toss these into my purse, since they keep my cosmetics contained and organized.

It aslo makes it super simple to change bags.

If you are a serial purse switcher like me!

One dollar, one sharpie, two minutes!

Have a great day!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Fun Fall Inspiration at Home Goods

Happy Tuesday!

I am off to take the little guy to swim lessons soon, so I will make this a quick one!

I was at Home Goods the other day, and I found a few fun things I wanted to share.

First off, are these cool fabric pumpkins...

Aren't they awesome?!

I am thinking that I can make them. I saved the stems from my pumpkins last year, so all I need is some cute fabric and stuffing!

Can't wait to try and re-create these.

And, while these bird plates are not screaming fall, I thought they were really sweet.
 Cheap too!
Cheap! Get it? ;-)
Ha! I am such a nerd...

I also found that they carry a ton of guten free items! That makes me happy, as I am a Celiac sufferer.
I brought a few things home to try.

Next time I will buy more of these!

They had a lot of fun Halloween decor!

 Halloween tea towels.

Fall leaf placemats are cute too!

I am chomping at the bit to get my fall decorations out!

Have a great day, all!! Thanks for stopping by!
