~Happy Monday~
I did really well this week finding some fabulous thrifty things!
I really wanted to hit some garage sales on Saturday morning, but I just was not able to fit it in.
My niece's graduation, and party was Saturday, so it was quite a busy day.
I've also been longing to get to some flea markets on Sundays, like back in the old days when I was an antique dealer. I love the early bird deals! Just me, my coffee, and my little cart, strolling down the aisles, looking for treasures. It's like a scavenger hunt, and there's a bit of a high when I find that one GREAT thing!
Ok, enough with the talk, let me show you what I found this week, with only a few stops at some local thrift stores.
This was one of the most expensive thing this week at $6.95. Wait till you see what I did with it! (Um, the chalk marker should be a clue! I remembered to snap a "before" pic just after I started with the pen. Stay tuned this week for a post on what this looks like now, and where I put it.
I found 3 mini chalk boards at a local antique store. They were $7 a piece. It's more than I would normally pay, but they were exactly what I was looking for, and it's hard to find them this nice. I've already done something so CUTE with one. That will be another post this week as well!
I found some vintage numbers at the Habitat Re-Store for .50 cents each! They also had a box of vintage grass cloth wallpaper for a dollar a roll. I could use this to line the back of shelves, cabinets, or even the bottom of a serving tray.
I scored five of these vintage hooks at the Re-Store for .50 cents each. I am going to attach them to a nice board, and hang it in my son's room for his hats.
And this little ironstone plate was .75 cents!
Back to my cup....*sigh*
Here's a close-up of that grass cloth wallpaper!
The metal bucket was a dollar, and the fabulous woven serving tray was only $3! I used it to take an appetizer to my niece's graduation party. It big enough to hold two platters side by side!
I found this sweet vintage airplane planter for a girlfriend who is having a baby. Since Mr W is a pilot, and I was a flight attendant, I like to buy baby gifts that have an airplane theme, especially for boys. If I find something cute enough, I will buy them for girls too. In this case, the baby's grandfather is also a retired airline pilot!
I think it will be cute to hold cotton balls, Q-tips, or a couple tubes of jams or jellies for baby.
So that's what I found this week, and all without trying too hard! Love that!
Hope you have a fantastic week ahead!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
See you tomorrow!
